Ingredients

For nachos:

1/2 cup - fine Maize flour

1/2 cup - plain flour

To taste - salt

To deep fry - oil

For mustard cheese sauce:

1 cup - cooking cheese, grated

1/2 cup - fresh Cream

1 tbsp - butter, softened

1 tsp - mustard powder or paste

1/2 tsp - Vinegar

1/2 tsp - Red Chilli or paprika, crushed

To taste - salt

Method

  1. For nachos:
  2. Mix flours, salt and knead into soft pliable dough with water.
  3. Divide into 2 parts. Roll into large rectangles on a clean work surface.
  4. Use dry flour to dust the surface for ease.
  5. Cut first into 2 inch strips, and then into 2 inch squares.
  6. Then halve into triangles. Deep fry, till lightly golden.
  7. Drain and keep aside to cool.
  8. For mustard cheese sauce:
  9. Mix all the ingredients together, into a smooth paste.
  10. Add some milk, if too thick.
  11. Spread nachos, in a shallow casserole and pour sauce on top.
  12. Bake in a hot oven at 250 degree C for 10 minutes or till sauce is lightly browned.
  13. Serve hot with warm garlic bread or as is.
