Namkeen sewai is a kid friendly Indian recipe popularly made in every household as a snack dish for evening hunger pangs.

The recipe is made of bambino sewai in Indian style with salty twist. This easy to make recipe gets ready in no time and made with easy boiling of bambino sewai in water. The tomato and seasoning along with spices like mustard seeds will do the magic and make this dish perfect to be relished along with family. You can learn how to make it by following some easy steps given below.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup - Bambino sewai
  • 2 - green chillies, sliced small
  • 2 tsp -coriander leaves for garnishing (cut fine)
  • 1/2 - Lemon
  • 1- Tomato
  • 10 ml - oil for seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp - black gram dal
  • 1/2 tsp - Mustard Seeds
  • How to Make Namkeen Sewai:

    1. Put the sewai in a pan and keep stirring till it becomes light brown.
    2. Scoop it out and place a plate.
    3. Put the oil in the pan. When it is slightly heated, add mustard seeds, black gram dal and green chillies one after the other.
    4. Now add chopped tomato and salt to taste with 1 cup water.
    5. When water starts boiling, add the sewai to it and turn the flame to medium.
    6. Cover and cook the sewai for 3-5 mins.
    7. As soon as the water is over, take it out, add coriander leaves and lemon juice.
    8. Do not overcook.
