Ingredients

  • 1 cup - grainy rave
  • 3/4 cup - Sugar
  • 10 to 12 - small raisins, washed
  • 5 to 6 - Almonds finely slivered
  • 2 - whole cardamoms, seeded, crushed lightly
  • 1/4 tsp - Nutmeg powder
  • 2 tbsp - Ghee
  • 2.5 cups - hot Milk

How to Make Navroj Rave

  • Heat ghee in a heavy saucepan. Add rave and roast over low flame for approximately 7-8 mins till the aroma exudes.
  • Add hot milk, stirring simultaneously.
  • Add raisins and cook over low flame till water is absorbed.
  • Add cardamom, nutmeg powder and sugar.
  • Stir gently till sugar melts, and the released moisture is re-absorbed.
  • Garnish with slivered almonds and some raisins.
  • Serve piping hot.
