  • 1 cup - Left-over Rice
  • 1/4 cup - Water
  • 1/4 cup - Buttermilk
  • 3 to 4 - small Onions chopped roughly
  • 1 - Green chilli chopped finely
  • Salt to taste
  • How to Make Neeragaram:

    1. Soak the leftover rice in water overnight.
    2. Drain a little water next morning and add buttermilk.
    3. Mash well with a ladle.
    4. Add a little more water to bring it to porridge consistency.
    5. Add required salt, finely chopped onion and green chillies, mix well.
    6. Pour into mud pots and allow it to rest for a while.
    7. Serve with pickle or fish curry.
