Ingredients

  • 2 measures - Channa dal (1 measure = 250 grams)
  • 12 - Green chillies
  • 1 - fresh Coconut (grated)
  • Ginger - 1 inch
  • 1 small bunch - coriander, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp - Haldi
  • 1 pinch - Hing
  • Salt to taste
  • How to Make Nuchchina:

    1. Soak the channa dal for an hour and a half. Drain all the water and grind coarsely into a dry paste.
    2. Grind the rest of the ingredients except coriander into a dry paste.
    3. Mix the above dal paste and coriander. Mix well.
    4. Shape into elongated balls after holding a palmful of the dal paste.
    5. Place them in idli trays and steam for 10 minutes. Nuchchina under is ready and tastes just yummy with white butter, kadi, coconut chutney, sauces, ketchups or just by itself.
