  • 2 medium size - zucchini
  • 2 cups - moong dal
  • 1 tsp - sambar powder
  • Salt as required
  • A pinch of asafoetida
  • 3 tsp - jeera
  • 1 tsp - mustard
  • 3-4 - green chillies
  • 2 - red chillies
  • Chopped coriander to garnish

How to Make Nutritious Zucchini Dal

  • Wash and drain the dal and cook until soft.
  • Dice the zucchini and add sambar powder, salt and asafoetida. Cook until soft and mushy.
  • Add the dal to the vegetable and mix well.
  • Crackle mustard; add urad dal, jeera, green chillies and red chillies.
  • Pour it over the dal. Garnish with chopped coriander.
  • If needed squeeze some lemon over the top.
  • Serve with rice/chapatti.
