  • 1 cup - grated Carrots
  • 1 cup - Sugar
  • 1/2 tsp - vanilla essence
  • 3 tbsp - Ghee
  • 1 cup - fresh Milk or 3 tbsp - condensed Milk
  • 3 tbsp - chopped nuts

How to Make Nutty Carrot Halwa

  • Melt the sugar in a thick pan with 1/2 cup water till a fairly thick syrup is obtained.
  • Add the grated carrot and milk or condensed milk and simmer. Stir constantly until the mixture begins to crystallize and looks transparent.
  • Add the essence, lime juice and ghee and mix well.
  • When the mixture starts to leave the sides of the pan, pour out onto a greased plate.
  • Sprinkle the nuts on top. Cut into squares when quite cold.
