  • 1 cup - rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup - Cooked yellow moong dal
  • 1 cup - Mixed veggies
  • 1 - Onion (chopped)
  • 1 tsp - Ginger (grated)
  • 1 tsp - Garlic (chopped)
  • 1 tsp - Mustard Seeds + Cumin seeds
  • 1- Green chillies (slit opened)
  • 10 - Whole black peppers
  • A few Curry leaves
  • 1/4 tsp - Turmeric powder
  • 1 - Bay Leaves
  • Salt
  • Oil
  • How to Make Oats, Mixed Veggies and Moong dal Khichdi:

    1. Heat enough oil.
    2. Fry the mustard seeds, cumin seeds and bay leaves.
    3. Add the chopped onions, slit opened green chillies, grated ginger, curry leaves and chopped garlic.
    4. Cook until the onions turns translucent.
    5. Now add the mixed vegetables, whole black peppers, turmeric powder and salt.
    6. Cook for a few seconds, add two cups of water, cooked moong dal and bring to boil.
    7. Meanwhile dry roast the rolled oats and keep aside.
    8. Add the roasted oats to the boiling water, stir well and cook for few minutes.
    9. Put off the stove and don't disturb for a few seconds.
    10. Serve hot with pickles or papads.
