  • 1 cup sago, dry
  • 1 cup roasted peeled peanuts, crushed or powdered
  • 3-4 green chillies, chopped
  • 3 tbsp coriander, chopped
  • 4-5 Curry leaves
  • 1 tsp Cumin seeds
  • 1/4 tsp Sugar (optional)
  • salt as per taste
  • 1.5 tsp Lime juice
  • How to Make Oil-Free Sago Kichidi:

    1. Wash sago gently. Remove excess water. Keep aside for 1 hour.
    2. Loosen the sago and break lumps with figures. Sprinkle a handful of water. Keep aside for 1 hour. Loosen as before.
    3. Take in a mixing bowl. Add all ingredients except the coriander leaves. Mix well with hands or wooden spatula.
    4. Just before serving, put in a non-stick pan and cook till the grain is softened and translucent.
    5. Alternatively, microwave for 30 seconds, stir gently and microwave again for 30 seconds.
    6. Garnish with coriander leaves.
    7. Serve immediately, with hot tea or coffee.
