  • 150 g- Okra (bhindi, ladies finger)
  • 150 g- Onion
  • 2 tsp- green chillies, minced
  • 2 tsp- garlic, minced
  • 4 tbsp Vinegar
  • cooking soda a pinch
  • besan and Rice flour to bind
  • oil to deep fry
  • salt to taste
  • How to Make Okra Pakodas:

    1. Add 4 Tbsp of vinegar to 2 cups of water and soak okra in it for ½ hour.
    2. Drain, rise and wipe dry. This will reduce the sliminess of okra. Cut into very thin slices.
    3. Chop the onions finely and add to the okra.
    4. Add green chillies, garlic, salt and soda.
    5. Sprinkle equal quantities of besan and rice flour. Mix till the mixture holds together. Sprinkle very little water if needed.
    6. Take marble sizes lumps of this mixture and drop into moderately hot oil. Fry till crisp and golden. Serve hot.
