Ingredients

  • 100 gms - boiled and cooled rice
  • 200 gms - boiled milk
  • 2 tbsp - sugar (6 tsps)
  • 2 - eggs
  • 1/4 tsp - nutmeg powder
  • 1 pinch - salt
  • 1 tbsp - raisins
  • 1/2 tsp - butter (to grease baking dish)

How to Make Old Fashioned Rice Pudding

  • Separate egg yolks and white.
  • Gently beat egg white until stiff froth. Keep aside.
  • Gently beat egg yolks. Keep aside.
  • Grease a baking dish with 1/2 tsp butter.
  • Preheat oven at 180 degrees C or 350 degrees F.
  • In a wide bowl, mix the rice with the milk, sugar, salt, nutmeg powder, and beaten egg yolks.
  • Finally, stir in the beaten egg white. Sprinkle raisins.
  • Pour the mixture into a well-greased baking dish and bake at 180 degrees C or 350 degrees F for 30 - 35 minutes or until the mixture leaves from the sides of the pan and golden colour.
  • Keep aside to cool for 15 minutes and serve.
