  • Tomatoes - 4
  • Fresh coconut - Half
  • Green chillies - According to taste
  • Cilantro/coriander - 2 tbsp
  • Salt - According to taste
  • Seasoning
  • Oil - 2 tsp
  • Mustard seeds - A pinch
  • Jeera - A pinch
  • Hing - A pinch

How to Make Old-fashioned Tomato Chutney

  • Use a kadai and heat 2 tsp oil.
  • Add tomatoes (cut into quarters) and green chillies.
  • When you notice they are tender, remove them.
  • When it cools down, add grated coconut, cilantro, salt and grind into a fine paste.
  • Now in a kadai put 2 tsp of oil and add mustard and jeera.
  • Allow them to splutter.
  • Add the seasoning to the chutney.
  • The chutney is ready.
