Onion capsicum sabzi is a delicious sabzi made from onions and capsicum in Indian style. This vegetarian recipe is made in few easy steps and is served as a side dish.

The amazing combination of onion and capsicum creates this delicious combination, which is best relished with roti and naan. You can also learn to make this quick recipe at home with the help of our recipe guide.

All it needs is sauteing capsicum with onions and some dry roasted peanuts. A handful of common spices will further enhance the flavor and recipe is cooked till capsicum and onions become soft.


  • 1 - big Capsicum
  • 1 - small Onion
  • 2 tbsp - roasted Peanuts
  • 1 tsp - coriander powder
  • 1 tsp - cumin powder
  • 1/2 tsp - Cumin seeds
  • Pinch of Sugar
  • 1/4 tsp - Turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp - Garam Masala
  • 1 tsp - Red Chilli powder
  • oil
  • salt to taste
  • How to Make Onion Capsicum Sabji:

    1. Grind the roasted peanuts and keep aside.
    2. Slice capsicum and onion thinly.
    3. Heat oil in pan and add the cumin seeds. Let it splutter.
    4. Add capsicum and fry it well.
    5. Then add the onions and fry it, too.
    6. Add chilli powder, garam masala, cumin powder, coriander powder, turmeric, salt and sugar.
    7. Mix well and let it cook.
    8. Add roasted peanuts and let it cook for 5 mins.
    9. Garnish with coriander leaves (optional).
    10. It can be served with rotis and naans.
