  • 1 - Medium-sized Onion (finely chopped)
  • 1 - bunch pudina/mint leaves (finely chopped, make sure there are no stalks)
  • 4 to 5 - Green chillies finely chopped into tiny pieces
  • A handful of dry Peanuts
  • A pinch of chaat masala (optional)
  • For the batter:
  • Two cups - Besan/Gram flour
  • 1 tsp - chilly powder
  • 1 tsp - Turmeric powder
  • One cup - water
  • Salt to taste
  • How to Make Onion Pudina Pakodas:

    1. Mix all the ingredients for the batter in a bowl with water to make a fine paste.
    2. Make sure the paste isn't too watery but not too thick either. It would help to add the water little by little so that you get the right consistency.
    3. Add the chopped onions, mint leaves, green chillies, and peanuts to the batter. Mix well.
    4. Heat enough oil in a kadai for deep-frying.
    5. Take a small handful of the batter, enough to make a ball and slip it into the oil.
    6. Repeat till the batter with all the other ingredients are finished.
    7. Fry till golden brown and take it out of the oil.
    8. Serve hot with mint chutney or by itself.
