  • 2 - onion
  • 2 - green chillies
  • 1/2 cup - gram flour
  • 1/4 cup - rice flour
  • 1/2 tsp - red chilli powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/4 tsp - turmeric powder
  • 1 tbsp - chopped coriander leaves
  • Curry leaves -a few
  • Oil for frying.

How to Make Onion Vada

  • Slice the onions, add a little salt and keep aside for 5 mins.
  • Finely chop the green chillies and add it to the chopped onions
  • Add besan flour, rice flour, red chilli powder, salt, turmeric powder, coriander leaves and curry leaves to the onion and mix well and knead it. Do not add any water.
  • Heat oil in a pan and deep fry small balls of dough.
  • Remove excess oil by placing them on a kitchen towel.
  • Serve.
