  • 1 - Medium orange
  • 175 gm - Butter
  • 175 gm - Light muscovado sugar
  • 175 gm - Self raising flour-
  • 3 Eggs
  • 50 gm - Ground Almonds
  • 1/2 tsp - Bicarbonate of soda
  • Icing sugar - for dusting.

How to Make Orange and Almond Cake

  • Preheat the oven to 190 degree Celsius or a fan oven to 170 degree Celsius
  • Butter and line a 20 cm round cake tin.
  • Puree the peeled and deseeded orange .
  • Cream the butter and sugar until creamy.
  • Add the eggs one by one and beat well.
  • Now add the remaining ingredients and mix it well.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared tin and bake for 25 to 30 mins or until an inserted skewer comes out clean.
  • Cool the cake and dust it with icing sugar.
