Ingredients

  • 250 g - all purpose flour
  • 290 g - granulated Sugar
  • 170 g - dark Brown sugar
  • 110 g - cocoa powder
  • 2 1.5 tsp - baking soda
  • 1 1.5 tsp - salt
  • 550 g - buttermilk
  • 230 g - Butter (room temperature)
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1.5 tsp - vanilla
  • 1 ground Orange zest
  • 2 tsp - ground Cinnamon
  • 1.5 tsp - ground Clove
  • 1 tbsp - ground Ginger
  • 170 g - melted chocolate
  • How to Make Orange Ginger Spiced Cake:

    1. Pre-heat oven at 180 degree C.
    2. Butter the parchment, line a rectangle-shaped baking tray (20cm x 10cm).
    3. Whisk buttermilk and eggs together.
    4. Place all other ingredients (except the chocolate) in an electric mixer bowl.
    5. Blend for 45 seconds on low speed.
    6. Add melted chocolate and mix for 3 mins.
    7. Place in the baking tray and cook for 40 mins until a knife inserted into centre comes out clean.
