  • 9 firm ripe Oranges
  • 375 ml Orange juice
  • 6 tbsp sugar, ground
  • 3/4 cup chilled Cream for whipping
  • 1.5 tsp Lemon juice
  • 1.5 packets vegetarian Orange jelly
  • 375 ml water
  • 3 drops vanilla essence
  • How to Make Orange Glow Dessert:

    1. Using a sharp pointed knife, cut oranges into halves horizontally. This should be done by inserting knife point in diagonally, zigzagging the cut.
    2. Each half will have a serrated edge to give a flower shape.
    3. Scoop out segments carefully without injuring the peels.
    4. Scrape insides of peels lightly with a blunt knife if required.
    5. Extract juice from segments, strain and keep aside.
    6. Keep peels in a covered box in fridge till required.
    7. Put water to boil, stir in jelly crystals and dissolve.
    8. Take off fire, cool a little, add lemon juice, rind, orange juice and cool to room temperature.
    9. Put mixture into fridge till thick but not set.
    10. Whip cream and sugar till soft peaks form.
    11. Put in icing bag with giant star nozzle and chill till required.
    12. Pour thickened mixture into orange peels and arrange sturdily in tray.
    13. Put in freezer till jelly sets firmly.
    14. Top jelly lilies with swirl of whipped cream before serving.
    15. Serve each lily as individual helping with an appropriate spoon to scoop jelly.
