Ingredients

  • Kashmiri Chilli powder - 2 Tbsp
  • Onion - 1 small
  • Garlic - 8 flakes
  • Sugar - 2 tsp or to taste
  • Thick tamarind juice - 1 tbsp
  • Salt - to taste
  • Dried shrimps - 1 tbsp (optional)
  • Oil - 6 tbsp

How to Make Oriental roasted chilli paste

  • Grind all the ingredients, except oil and tamarind, into a paste.
  • Heat oil and roast the paste over a low flame till the raw smell is lost.
  • Add tamarind, mix well and remove.
  • This paste can be stored in the refrigerator for a couple of weeks
