How to Make Ox tongue roast

  • Wash the ox tongue well and then pressure cook it with 2 cups of water and a little salt till it is tender. Let some of the soup remain.
  • Open the pressure-cooker and remove the boiled tongue out.
  • Let it cool for some time.
  • Once it's a little cold, remove the white skin from the tongue and put it back into the open cooker. Add oil, onions, red chillies, peppercorns, cloves, cinnamon and a little salt to it.
  • Mix it together well.
  • Cook on simmer or low heat till all the soup dries up and the tongue is brown in colour all over.
  • Cut it into slices and arrange it on a plate along with the residue.
  • Serve it with mashed potatoes and bread.
