Ingredients

  • Rice - 4 tbsp
  • Sugar - 15 tbsp
  • Milk - 3 - 4 cups
  • Ghee - 2 tsp
  • Cashews, cardamom, Raisins - handful
  • How to Make Paal Payasam with rice:

    1. Grind rice finely and fry it in a tsp of hot ghee.
    2. Separately, toast cashews, cardamom and raisins in hot ghee and keep aside.
    3. Pressure cook the rice powder and milk on a low flame for 4 to 5 whistles (approx 30 minutes).
    4. Once the cooker cools down, heat the milk directly for some more time to attain a natural condensed milk effect.
    5. Add sugar and stir till it dissolves completely.
    6. Boil the mix for 5 -7 minutes.
    7. Finally, add the toasted cashew, raisins and cardamom.
    8. Serve it hot or cold.
