Ingredients

  • 4 - butter fish (pabda)
  • 6 - sliced green chillies
  • 4 tbsp - mustard oil
  • 4 tbsp - chopped coriander leaves
  • 1/2 tsp - black cumin
  • 2 tsp - turmeric powder
  • salt to taste

How to Make Pabda Jhol (Butter Fish Curry)

  • Wash and clean the fish. Remove the jaws, sprinkle salt and turmeric powder on the fish. Leave aside for a while.
  • Heat four tbsp of mustard oil in the pan, heat it. Add black cumin, turmeric powder, some water and sliced green chilies.
  • Add the fish, reduce flame. Let the fish boil and soften, turn the fishes softly on the other side. Do it very carefully so that the fish does not break.
  • Add salt and coriander leaves. Make sure the gravy does not dry up.
  • Pour the fish along with the gravy on a flat dish.
  • Sprinkle mustard oil over it. Garnish with more chopped coriander leaves and sliced green chillies.
