Ingredients

  • Horse gram (kollu) - 5 tbsp
  • Toor Dal (thuvaram parupu) - 1 tbsp
  • cumin - 1/2 tbsp
  • Black pepper (kurumulagu) - 10
  • Curry leaves (karivepillai) - 10 (finely chopped)
  • Coriander leaves (kothumalli thalai) - as required (finely chopped)
  • Mustard Seeds (kaduku) - as required
  • Oil/ghee - 1 tbsp
  • Tomato - 1 (finely chopped)
  • Garlic - 2 (finely chopped)
  • Small Onion - 6 (finely chopped)
  • How to Make Pacha Kollu Rasam:

    1. Heat oil in a vessel and fry mustard, curry leaves, garlic and onion.
    2. Add tomato to this mixture and add water.
    3. Finely grind horse gram, tuvar dal, jeera, pepper in a blender and mix it with the contents in the vessel.
    4. Close the lid and allow it to boil for 5 minutes.
    5. Pour enough water.
    6. Remove it from heat and garnish with coriander leaves.
