Ingredients

  • 250 g - fish fillets
  • 1/2 cup - Maida
  • 1/2 cup - thick Coconut Milk
  • 2 - eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1 tsp - garlic, minced and crushed
  • 1 tbsp - curry powder
  • 1/3 cup - water
  • 1 tbsp - Lime juice
  • 1 tsp - Sugar
  • 1 tbsp - oil
  • salt, pepper and Lime juice to taste
  • bread crumbs to coat
  • oil to shallow fry
  • curry sauce
  • salt to taste

How to Make Pan Fried Fish with Curry Sauce

  • Cut fish fillets into 4 pieces.
  • Apply salt, pepper and lime juice.
  • Roll in maida.
  • Dip in egg, coat with bread crumbs place on a plate.
  • Cover and refrigerate. (minimum 15 minutes)
  • To prepare curry sauce, heat the oil and brown garlic in it.
  • Add curry powder, fry for few seconds.
  • Add water, mix well and simmer gently for 2-3 minutes.
  • Add coconut milk and simmer till the sauce thickens.
  • Remove from heat; add lime juice, salt and sugar.
  • Heat the oil in fry pan, to a depth of 1.5 cm.
  • Fry the fish gently, about 2-3 minutes on each side till it flakes when tested with a fork. (do not overcook)
  • Drain well and serve with curry sauce.
