Ingredients

  • Paneer – 350 grams
  • Green Peas – 100 grams
  • Onion – 2 large
  • Ginger – 1 tbsp
  • Garlic – 2 tbsp
  • Green Chillies – 4 nos
  • Tomatoes – 3 large
  • Coriander Leaves – 1 bunch
  • Turmeric Powder – ½ tsp
  • Chilli Powder – 1 tbsp
  • Cumin Seeds – ½ tsp
  • Chat Masala – ½ tsp
  • Water – 150 ml
  • Salt – to taste
  • Oil – 2 tbsp

How to Make Paneer Bhurji – Scrambled Cottage Cheese

  • Mince or finely chop paneer
  • Finely chop onions, green chilli, tomatoes and coriander, store separately
  • Make a paste of ginger and garlic
  • Heat oil in a non stick pan. Add cumin seeds, allow to splutter.
  • Add chopped onion and sauté for 2 mins till translucent.
  • Add turmeric powder, chilli powder saute for a minute.
  • Add chopped tomatoes, green chilli, ginger-garlic paste, paneer and green peas.
  • Cover and cook on low flame for 20 minutes with water. Stir occasionally.
  • Add salt to taste.
  • Remove from flame. Sprinkle chat masala and chopped coriander leaves. Cover and leave till ready to be served.
  • Serve with toasted brown bread or roti.
  • Always cook this recipe on low flame, covered with a lid to get a moisture filled fluffy bhurji.
