Ingredients

  • Rice Flour - 2 cups
  • Salt to taste
  • Red Chilli powder to taste
  • Ginger and Garlic paste-1 tsp
  • Sesame seeds -1 tbsp
  • Chena Dal (soaked) - 3 tbsp
  • Jeera- 1 tsp
  • Asafoetida-1 pinch
  • Oil- 2 tbsp
  • Hot water- little

How to Make Pappu Chekka (Appam)

  • Mix all ingredients with little hot water and little hot oil. You can add more water to make it into a soft dough.
  • Spread little oil on a polythene sheet.
  • Make the dough into small rounds and press them on the polythene sheet like papad.
  • Heat oil in a frying pan. Fry these appams till they become red.
