Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup - toor dhal
  • 1/4 cup - masoor dal
  • 1/4 tsp - Asafoetida powder
  • 1/2 tsp - Turmeric powder
  • Salt
  • Tempering:
  • 1 tbsp - Ghee
  • 1/2 tsp - Cumin seeds
  • 1-red chillies
  • 6- Shallots
  • 2 tbsp - Coriander leaves (chopped)
  • How to Make Parsi Daal:

    1. Pressure cook the both dhals together with asafoetida powder and turmeric powder.
    2. Add enough water to the cooked dhal and salt, bring to boil.
    3. In a small pan, heat the ghee, add the cumin seeds, red chillies, shallots.
    4. Fry the shallots until they get fried, add this to tempered ghee to the daal, and add the chopped coriander leaves.
    5. Serve hot with plain rice.
