  • 3 - Whole pomfrets, approximate total weight 1.5kg
  • 2 tbsp - Lime Juice
  • 1 tbsp - Red Chilli powder
  • 1 tbsp - Turmeric powder
  • 1 tbsp - Salt
  • Oil for shallow frying
  • For Garnishing:
  • 3 - Capsicum, cut in half
  • 2 - Lime, cut into wedges
  • 1 tbsp - Coriander leaves chopped
  • How to Make Parsi Fried Fish:

    1. Wash fish and cut into slices.
    2. If medium-sized pomfrets are used, cut each into half.
    3. Pour lime juice all over the fish, rub in the red chilli powder, salt and turmeric. Leave in a cool dry place for at least 1 hour.
    4. Heat oil in a frying pal.
    5. When oil is hot, add fish, a few pieces at a time. Reduce the heat and fry till underside of fish is crisp.
    6. Then turn over and fry the other side.
    7. Drain and place on a heated serving platter.
    8. In the same oil, fry the capsicums and place around the fish.
    9. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and wedges of lime.
    10. Serve hot with plain rice and pulses.
