Ingredients

  • 3 - Whole pomfrets, approximate total weight 1.5kg
  • 2 tbsp - Lime Juice
  • 1 tbsp - Red Chilli powder
  • 1 tbsp - Turmeric powder
  • 1 tbsp - Salt
  • Oil for shallow frying
  • For Garnishing:
  • 3 - Capsicum, cut in half
  • 2 - Lime, cut into wedges
  • 1 tbsp - Coriander Leaves chopped

How to Make Parsi Fried Fish

  • Wash fish and cut into slices.
  • If medium-sized pomfrets are used, cut each into half.
  • Pour lime juice all over the fish, rub in the red chilli powder, salt and turmeric. Leave in a cool dry place for at least 1 hour.
  • Heat oil in a frying pal.
  • When oil is hot, add fish, a few pieces at a time. Reduce the heat and fry till underside of fish is crisp.
  • Then turn over and fry the other side.
  • Drain and place on a heated serving platter.
  • In the same oil, fry the capsicums and place around the fish.
  • Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and wedges of lime.
  • Serve hot with plain rice and pulses.
