Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup - moong dal, soaked in water for 30 minutes
  • 2 - red chillies
  • A pinch - asafoetida
  • Salt
  • 1 tbsp - grated coconut
  • 1 tsp - oil
  • 2 cloves - garlic

How to Make Paruppu thovayal

  • Drain the moong dal.
  • Heat the oil and roast the dal until it turns fragrant. Keep aside
  • Now roast the chillies, asafoetida, garlic and coconut. Keep aside.
  • Grind everything with a little salt and water into a thick chutney.
