Ingredients

  • short macaroni - 100 gm
  • boiled vegetables - 2 cups
  • onions - 1 cup, chopped
  • tomatoes - 1 cup, chopped
  • green chillies 3, minced
  • ginger 2 cm, minced
  • celery 2 stalks, chopped
  • refined oil - 3 tbsp
  • chilli powder - 1/2 tsp, optional
  • tomato ketchup -1/2 cup
  • salt to taste
  • For Sauce :
  • milk - 300 ml
  • butter - 2 tbsp Maida - 2 tbsp
  • cheddar cheese - 100 gm, grated
  • egg 1, lightly beaten
  • butter - 1 tbsp, for topping
  • salt and pepper to taste

How to Make Pasta Hot Pot

  • Cook macaroni as per the directions on the pack.
  • Heat oil, fry onion till light brown.
  • Add green chillies, ginger and celery and fry for 1 minute.
  • Add tomatoes, chilli powder, ketchup, vegetables, macaroni and salt.
  • Mix well (add a little water or stock if necessary) and remove from fire.
  • Pour in a greased baking dish.
  • Melt butter for sauce, add Maida and fry till the raw smell is lost.
  • Add milk, and cook and stir till it just begins to boil.
  • Remove from fire, add one and a half the beaten egg and one and a half the grated cheese, salt and pepper.
  • Pour over the macaroni vegetable mixture.
  • Sprinkle remaining cheese on top.
  • Pour remaining egg over it.
  • Dot with 1 tbsp of butter and bake in a hot oven (200 degrees centigrade ) till brown on top. Serve hot.
