Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup - basmati Rice
  • 1/2 cup - cabbage, finely chopped
  • 1 no - Onion
  • 1/4 tsp - Red Chilli powder
  • A few - Mint leaves
  • A few - Curry leaves
  • 1 tbsp - oil
  • Salt as needed
  • A pinch - Garam Masala
  • 1/4 tsp - mustard
  • 1/4 tsp - Urad Dal
  • 2 tbsp - Peanuts
  • 1 tsp - Cashew nuts
  • A pinch - Turmeric powder
  • How to Make Patta Gobi Chawal:

    1. Wash and soak the rice for 15 mins and pressure cook for 2 whistles by adding 3/4 cup of water and little salt and few drops of oil.
    2. Wash and cut the cabbage finely. Chop the onions and capsicum finely.
    3. In a kadai, add oil and splutter mustard seeds, add urad dal, cashew nuts, peanuts mint leaves and curry leaves.
    4. Add the onions and saute till they become crunchy.
    5. Now add in the chopped cabbage and capsicum and saute for a minute after adding the red chilli powder, turmeric powder and garam masala powder.
    6. Check for salt.
    7. Mix this with the cooked rice, mix well.
    8. Serve
