How to Make Pavakka Mezhukkupuratti (Bitter Gourd Stir Fry)

  • Wash and clean the bitter gourd and cut into 1-inch thin slices.
  • Microwave on high for 4 minutes with 1/2 cup of water.
  • Heat oil in a wide pan and add the mustard seeds.
  • When they begin to pop, add the microwaved bitter gourd slices, red chilli powder, turmeric powder and salt to taste.
  • Add 1 cup of water and cook until the water dries up .
  • Cover with a lid and cook on low to medium heat for 10-12 minutes until the water completely dries up.
  • Serve hot with rice.
