Ingredients

  • Green peas - 1/2 cup
  • Oil - 2 tsp
  • Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
  • Cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp
  • Green chilli - 1 tsp, chopped
  • Chilli powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Grated coconut - 1/2 cup
  • Idli batter - 3 to 4 cup
  • Salt to taste

How to Make Peas Stuffed Idlis

  • For the filling, boil peas till soft.
  • Heat oil in a pan. Add mustard and cumin seeds.
  • When they splutter, add green chilli, turmeric and chilli powder.
  • Add peas, coconut and salt.
  • Stir on a low flame for a minute or two.
  • Let it cool.
  • Grease the idly moulds and fill with batter.
  • Place 1 tsp filling over the batter .
  • Cover the filling with more batter and steam for 15 minutes.
  • Serve hot with chutney.
