Ingredients

  • 1 - ridge gourd.
  • 1 tbsp - urad dal.
  • 1 tsp - Channa dal.
  • 3 or 4 - dry red chillies.
  • Asafoetida, a pinch.
  • 1 tbsp - Tamarind juice.
  • Salt.
  • oil.

How to Make Peerkangai (Ridge Gourd) Thogayal

  • Peel the ridge gourd and slice. Heat oil, add urad dal, channa dal, red chillies, asafoetida and fry.
  • Add the ridge gourd slices, salt, and fry till soft. Allow to cool.
  • Grind coarsely with tamarind extract.
