How to Make Pepper Cabbage Dal

  • Grind all the ingredients from the list 'To Grind' as fine paste with some water and keep aside.
  • Wash the dals and combine the dals and cabbage with enough water in a pressure cooker with turmeric powder and cook for two whistles.
  • Once the steam gets released, add the ground paste, salt and garam masala powder with cup of water, cook for few minutes.
  • In a another pan, heat the ghee, fry the mustard seeds, urad dal, dry red chillies, cumin seeds and asafoetida powder with curry leaves.
  • Add the tempered spices to the cooking dal and switch off the stove.
  • Serve hot along with rice and potato roast.
