Ingredients

  • 400 ml - Milk
  • 100 g - Sugar
  • 50 g - Rice flour
  • 4 to 5 green Cardamoms
  • nuts for garnishing (almonds, pistachios, cashewnuts)
  • silver leaf

How to Make Phirnee

  • Blend rice flour with 1.5 cup cold milk till smooth. Boil remaining milk.
  • Remove from fire and add blended rice flour. Simmer on low fire till quite thick.
  • Add sugar and cook for a few minutes more. Pour into individual glass bowls.
  • Crush cardamom seeds coarsely and sprinkle over phirnee. Chill till cold and set.
  • Cut nuts into long thin slivers.
  • Before serving garnish with nuts and silver leaf.
