Ingredients

  • 2 litres - milk (full cream).
  • 100 g - basmati rice.
  • 1 tbsp - ghee.
  • 1 tsp - cardamom powder.
  • 8-10 - almonds.
  • 8-10 - cashewnuts.
  • 8-10 - pistachios.
  • 8-10 - raisins.
  • 1 pinch - saffron.
  • 150 g - sugar.

How to Make Phirnee with dry fruits

  • Boil milk for 15 mins.
  • Fry rice with ghee for 5 mins till the colour changes to golden.
  • Grind rice coarsely in a grinder (don't make it a fine powder).
  • Add the ground rice in boiling milk.
  • Keep stirring for 15 mins till the dish turns semi solid. Add sugar and saffron and keep stirring for 5 more mins.
  • Put the dish in a bowl and refrigerate for 30 mins.
  • Serve in bowl and garnish with sliced dry fruits.
