Ingredients

  • 2 litres - Milk (full cream).
  • 100 g - basmati rice.
  • 1 tbsp - ghee.
  • 1 tsp - Cardamom powder.
  • 8-10 - almonds.
  • 8-10 - cashewnuts.
  • 8-10 - pistachios.
  • 8-10 - raisins.
  • 1 pinch - saffron.
  • 150 g - sugar.
  • How to Make Phirnee with dry fruits:

    1. Boil milk for 15 mins.
    2. Fry rice with ghee for 5 mins till the colour changes to golden.
    3. Grind rice coarsely in a grinder (don't make it a fine powder).
    4. Add the ground rice in boiling milk.
    5. Keep stirring for 15 mins till the dish turns semi solid. Add sugar and saffron and keep stirring for 5 more mins.
    6. Put the dish in a bowl and refrigerate for 30 mins.
    7. Serve in bowl and garnish with sliced dry fruits.
