  • 2-1/2 cups - Wheat flour
  • salt
  • thin buttermilk or water
  • How to Make Phulka:

    1. Knead the ingredients into a soft dough
    2. Divide into ping pong-sized balls (or even smaller).
    3. Roll out into thin circles. Roll as thin as possible (about 2 mm thick).
    4. Heat griddle (tawa) and place phulka on it.
    5. When dry on one side, flip. When brown spots appear on second side, flip again.
    6. Use a kitchen towel and lightly press down on the phulka, rotating it at the same time. This will help it puff up. Make it as crisp as desired.
    7. Apply ghee on the crisp side and serve hot.
    8. Serve hot with vegetable curry.
