  • ¾ cup - crushed peanuts
  • ¾ cup - minced onion
  • ½ cup - brown sugar
  • 3 slices tinned pineapple
  • 1 tsp - garlic, minced
  • 2 tsp - coriander roots, washed and chopped
  • 1 tsp - black pepper corns
  • 1 tbsp - light soya sauce
  • 2 tbsp - oil

How to Make Pineapple Peanut Appetizer

  • Drain the pineapple from the syrup and cut each slice into 8 pieces.
  • Crush garlic, coriander roots and pepper corns to a coarse paste.
  • Heat the oil and fry onion till brown.
  • Add the crushed garlic mixture and fry till fragrant.
  • Add peanuts, Soya sauce and brown sugar.
  • Mix well and add little salt if needed.
  • Cook stirring till the mixture holds together.
  • Cool slightly and shape into 1 cm round pellets.
  • Line a serving plate with a piece of banana leaf.
  • Arrange the pineapple pieces on it.
  • Sprinkle peanuts on each pineapple piece.
