Ingredients

  • 1 cup - Rice flour
  • 2 - Red Chillies
  • 4 tbsp - grated Coconut
  • 1/4 cup - groundnut
  • Salt, to taste
  • 1 tsp - Cumin seeds
  • Coriander, a few sprigs
  • 1 - onion, diced
  • 1/2 cup - water
  • 1/2 cup - oil, for greasing the pan
  • How to Make Plain Akki Roti:

    1. Grind groundnut, coconut, red chillies and mix with other ingredients and add enough water to make dough similar to chappathi dough consistency.
    2. Take a small ball of dough, put it on a pan and press it out to form a roti.
    3. Make a hole in the centre and put 1/2 tsp of oil.
    4. Keep it on the stove on medium-high heat for 5 to 10 minutes or until its lightly brown.
    5. Serve it hot with coconut chutney or pickle.
