How to Make Plain Bottle Gourd Curry

  • Crush green chillies, ginger and garlic together.
  • Grind coconut with rice flour to a smooth paste.
  • Heat oil in a kadai. Add cloves and cumin seeds. Fry for a few seconds.
  • Add onion and fry till light brown. Add chilli and turmeric powder.
  • Add gourd pieces and salt. Cover and simmer till the vegetable is tender.
  • Add the coconut paste and enough water to form a thick gravy.
  • Simmer for 2-3 minutes and remove from fire.
