Ingredients

  • Grated Bottle Gourd - 3 cups
  • Milk - 2 cups
  • Sugar - 1/2 cup
  • Ghee - 5 tbsp
  • Cardamom powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Cashew nuts - 2 tbsp, chopped
  • How to Make Plain Bottle Gourd Halva:

    1. Combine bottle gourd with milk and cook till it is soft.
    2. Add sugar and 4 tbsp of ghee and cook till the mixture becomes a semi-solid lump. Keep stirring as the mixture cooks.
    3. Add cardamom powder.
    4. Heat the remaining ghee in a small frying pan and brown the cashew nuts in it.
    5. Add them to the halva.
    6. Transfer to a serving dish. Serve hot or cold.
