  • Grated bottle gourd - 3 cups
  • Milk - 2 cups
  • Sugar - 1/2 cup
  • Ghee - 5 tbsp
  • Cardamom powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Cashew nuts - 2 tbsp, chopped

How to Make Plain Bottle Gourd Halva

  • Combine bottle gourd with milk and cook till it is soft.
  • Add sugar and 4 tbsp of ghee and cook till the mixture becomes a semi-solid lump. Keep stirring as the mixture cooks.
  • Add cardamom powder.
  • Heat the remaining ghee in a small frying pan and brown the cashew nuts in it.
  • Add them to the halva.
  • Transfer to a serving dish. Serve hot or cold.
