Plain Chicken Biryani

1/2 kg - cut pieces of Chicken

2 cups - long grain Rice

1 cup - Coconut Milk

2 tsp - Ginger and Garlic paste

2 - Onions (finely chopped)

1/2 cup - Curd

1 tsp - red chilly powder

1 bunch - Mint leaves

3 tsp - Ghee

a few pieces - Clove

small stick - Cinnamon

a few green Cardamom

salt to taste


  1. Heat ghee. Add chopped onions and fry till golden.
  2. Add ginger-garlic paste, cardamom, cinnamon, chilli powder, beaten curd and chicken pieces.
  3. Let it boil for a while.
  4. Add washed rice, salt and mint leaves and enough water.
  5. Cover it with a thick lid and slow cook on medium flame.
  6. Open the lid once done and garnish with fried dry fruits.
