Ingredients

  • 1.25 cups - rice flour
  • 1/4 cup - rava
  • 1/4 cup - maida flour
  • 1 cup - chopped onions
  • 6 to 7 - chopped green chillies
  • 1 tsp - sesame, white seeds
  • 4 tsp - broken groundnuts
  • 1/2 tsp - jeera seeds
  • 1 pinch - baking soda
  • 1 ladle - refined oil
  • chopped coriander
  • salt

How to Make Plain Maddur Vada

  • Mix all the ingredients with a little water to make stiff dough.
  • Take a ball of dough and flatten it out on a plastic sheet.
  • Poke with a fork at the centre in a few spots.
  • Deep fry till golden brown and crisp on both sides.
  • Serve with tomato ketchup or coriander-coconut chutney.
