Ingredients

  • 1 small - raw mango - cut in pieces
  • 1 - green chilli, slit in the middle
  • 3 to 4 tbsp - jaggery
  • a pinch - haldi
  • 1/2 tsp - mustard
  • 2 tsp - oil
  • 1/2 tsp - salt

How to Make Plain Mango sweet chutney

  • Take the oil in a kadai. After you heat it well, put in the mustard.
  • Once it splutters, add the green chilli and mango pieces to it.
  • Fry it for a bit and add haldi and salt. Pour water to ensure the mango pieces are immersed.
  • Decrease the flame and cover it till the mango pieces become very soft.
  • Now add the jaggery and mix it well. Cover it once again.
  • Add some water if the mixture is dry.
  • After a few minutes the jaggery will dissolve and the mango pieces will be cooked in the syrup.
  • It will become slightly thick.
  • If it is very thick, add some more water as the dish will thicken more as it cools down.
  • This can be had as a side dish for paratha, puri, idli, dosa or even bread.
