  • 300 g - besan
  • 12 green chillies, long and big
  • 1/2 tsp - ajwain
  • 1/2 tbsp - rice flour
  • 1/2 tsp - red chilli powder
  • 1/8 tsp - baking soda
  • salt
  • For stuffing: 1 tbsp - grated coconut
  • 1 onion, chopped very fine
  • 1/2 tbsp - chopped, coriander leaves
  • a pinch amchur powder
  • a pinch garam masala

How to Make Plain Mirchi Bajji

  • Mix both the flours with salt, red chilli powder, 1/4 tsp of ajwain and baking soda
  • Prepare bajji batter and keep aside.
  • Slit chillies, remove the seeds, and keep aside.
  • Prepare stuffing with grated coconut, chopped onion, chopped coriander, remaining ajwain, amchur powder, garam masala and some salt.
  • Fill the chillies with the stuffing, add some of the removed seeds if you want it to be more spicy
  • Dip the stuffed chillies in the batter and deep fry them till they become light golden brown in colour
  • Place them on paper napkin and serve hot with chutney or tomato sauce.
