Ingredients

  • 2 large - pomfrets.
  • 2 tsp - salt.
  • Banana leaves.
  • 1 - lemon| For the chutney:
  • 1 fresh - coconut.
  • 1 cup - chopped kothmir.
  • 8 - green chillies.
  • 1 tsp - Jeera seeds.
  • 6 large Cloves - garlic.
  • 2 tsp - sugar.
  • 1 tsp - salt.
  • 2 tsp - Lemon juice.
  • How to Make Plain Patra ni macchi:

    1. Grind all the ingredients for the chutney.
    2. Rub salt and lime into fish.
    3. Coat each slice with chutney.
    4. Rub a little oil on the inside of the banana leaf.
    5. Wrap each slice in a leaf and tie it with a cotton string.
    6. Place the fish pieces on a vessel with holes at the bottom, over a vessel with boiling water and allow it to steam for about 10 mins.
