Ingredients

  • 2 cups - Basmati Rice or any other Rice.
  • 2 - bay leaves.
  • 4 - cardamoms.
  • 3 - cloves.
  • 1 - small stick cinnamon.
  • 2 tsp - Ginger Garlic paste.
  • Salt to taste.
  • 1/2 cup - ghee.

How to Make Plain Pilaf (Palau)

  • Heat the ghee in a pan or rice cooker and fry the bay leaves, and spices for some time.
  • Add the ginger garlic paste and saute for a few minutes.
  • Add the washed rice and stir fry for 3-4 mins.
  • Add the salt and 4 cups of water and cook till the rice is done.
  • Serve with mutton or pork curry and salad.
