How to Make Plain Prawn Biryani

  • Wash and soak the rice for 1/2 an hour. Drain it.
  • Grind ginger, garlic, green chilli, coriander powder, onion and coriander leaves, adding salt, into a paste.
  • Marinate the cleaned prawns with the paste for 15 mins.
  • In a pressure cooker, heat ghee / oil.
  • Add crushed spices, cashews, pudina leaves, chopped onion and saute, till golden brown.
  • Add the marinated prawn to this, and saute, till the oil separates.
  • Add the chopped tomatoes and turmeric powder to it. Stir for a few seconds.
  • Now add rice and water in 1:1.5 cups ratio.
  • When its starts boiling, close the cooker, and cook in high pressure, for 5-7 mins.
  • Allow it to cool naturally.
  • Serve hot with raitha or salad.
