  • 1 cup - dried Rajma (washed and soaked overnight)
  • 4 - medium sized Onions (chopped)
  • 3 - medium sized Tomatoes
  • 1 tsp - Garam Masala
  • 3-4 - Green chillies sliced vertically
  • Curry leaves
  • 4 tbsp - oil
  • salt
  • How to Make Plain Rajma Masala:

    1. Drain the water from the soaked rajma and boil it in the pressure cooker till it is cooked.
    2. Grind the chopped onions and tomatoes separately with a little water to a fine paste.
    3. Heat the oil and add curry leaves and sliced green chillies.
    4. Add the onion paste and fry on medium heat till the paste turns pinkish in colour.
    5. Pour the tomato paste and stir. Fry on high heat for 5 to 8 minutes, till the mixture is slightly reduced.
    6. After this add the boiled rajma along with the water and salt. Cover and cook for 10 minutes on medium heat so that the masala blends well with the rajma.
    7. Once done, sprinkle the garam masala and stir.
    8. You can garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
    9. Serve the dish hot with rice or rotis.
